🌟 A Brief History of the Modernism Week Fall Preview
While most people know about the world-famous Modernism Week in February, fewer realize that it all started as a much smaller affair—originally known as Modernism Weekend. Back then, the cornerstone was the Palm Springs Modernism Show & Sale, and The Paul Kaplan Group was there from the beginning. We proudly manned a booth at the show, handing out sheets of open house listings for midcentury modern homes around town—long before Modernism Week became the city-wide celebration it is today.
The Fall Preview was introduced as a more intimate “sneak peek” of the full February event. It allows fans of architecture, design, and Palm Springs culture to experience many of the same great tours, talks, and parties—but with smaller crowds and cooler weather. It’s the perfect way to kick off the modernist season in the desert.
